Itinerary

Hill & Mountain Walking Challenges

  • The Yorkshire Three Peaks: This advanced challenge in the Yorkshire Dales requires completing a continuous, circular 38 km route over Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough with 1,600m of ascent in under 12 hours, led by experienced leaders.

  • The Edale Skyline: Spanning approximately 20 miles with over 1,100m of total ascent, this classic Peak District circular route connects high moorlands and exposed ridges including Win Hill, Kinder Scout Low, Brown Knoll, Mam Tor, and Lose Hill within 8 to 10 hours.

  • Derbyshire Three Peaks: A tough, 30 to 34 km circular hike starting and finishing in Hayfield that tests endurance across boggy moorlands by summiting Derbyshire’s highest points—Kinder Scout, Bleaklow Head (near the Bleaklow Bomber wreckage site), and Higher Shelf Stones.

  • The Nine Edges: A popular, demanding 32 to 35 km linear route traversing the Peak District’s undulating gritstone edges from Fairholmes to Birchen Edge, typically completed by average groups in 7 to 10 hours.

  • Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa): As the highest mountain in England and Wales, Snowdon stands at 1,085 metres and offers six main footpaths ranging from the gradual Llanberis Path to the steeper Miners’ and Pyg Tracks, making for a 14.5 km round trip taking 6 to 8 hours.

  • Scafell Pike: Standing at 978 metres, the highest mountain in England can be tackled via several routes, with the most popular and direct round trip starting from Wasdale Head and taking roughly 4 to 6 hours.

  • Ben Nevis: Reaching 1,345m, this Scottish Highlands giant is the highest mountain in the UK and uses the straightforward Mountain Path (Pony Track) for a 16 km round trip that takes most hikers between 7 and 9 hours.

Are you looking for a unique and impactful way to boost team morale, increase collaboration, and give back to the community? Then let Wellbeing Walks take you on a corporate charity challenge – we will happily help you arrange this with your chosen charity.

More extreme outdoor challenge days

  • National Three Peaks: The definitive UK mountain challenge that involves climbing the highest peaks in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike), and Wales (Snowdon) in one continuous effort, typically targeted within 24 hours or spread comfortably over 3 to 4 days.

  • Lakes 3000’s & 24 Peaks Challenge: A monumental Lake District undertaking that involves scaling the region’s four mountains over 3,000 ft (Scafell Pike, Scafell, Helvellyn, and Skiddaw) or pushing even further to tackle 24 peaks over 2,400 ft within 24 hours.

  • Welsh 3000’s: One of the most physically and technically demanding feats in the UK, requiring walkers to summit all 15 mountains in Wales over 3,000 ft across the Snowdon Massif, Glyderau, and Carneddau ranges on foot within a continuous 24-hour window.

  • Coast to Coast: Created by Alfred Wainwright, this iconic 192-mile route takes 12 to 15 days to traverse Northern England from St Bees on the Irish Sea to Robin Hood’s Bay on the North Sea.

  • Hadrian’s Wall: A magnificent 84-mile coast-to-coast National Trail stretching from Wallsend to Bowness-on-Solway across northern England, typically completed over 6 to 9 days as an easy-to-moderate, albeit long, hike.
