Walking in The Peak District National Park has a range of landscapes including rolling hills, dramatic moors, and pretty valleys. You’ll find limestone pavements, gritstone edges, and caverns waiting to be explored. The Peak District is home to a variety of wildlife, including red deer, hares, foxes, and buzzards.
There are short, flat trails for leisurely strolls and also more challenging hikes that will take you to the top of some of the area’s highest peaks, including Kinder Scout. Kinder is the highest point for those looking for a challenge and stunning views. There are several routes you can take to the summit, but the most popular one is from Edale. Ascending Kinder Scout via Jacob’s Ladder, a steep path that takes you up to the plateau offers a great view at the top.
We can also take you on the Edale Skyline. It’s a circular route that takes in some of the most stunning scenery including Mam Tor, Kinder Scout, and the Hope Valley. The walk is typically around 20 miles long, with a total ascent of around 5,000 feet. It’s a tough challenge, but the views from the top are definitely worth it.
After a day of walking, you can find some delicious food at the many high quality pubs and cafes scattered throughout the Peak District. Check out one of our example events here: Hiking, Yoga and Sound Baths in the Peak District – Wellbeing Walks – Out the office into nature.
